The method · the 3·6·9 cut

If it doesn't add meaning, it gets cut.

The kill rule, applied to every frame: remove the unexpected element — did the film get worse? No? Then it was never earning attention. Everything on screen works for your brand, or it goes.

3

Three rules that stop the scroll.

Contrast. Symbol. Consequence. Tap a rule.

6

Every shot moves the story.

Six directed shots, each with a job — thirty seconds or sixty. No filler, no stock footage, no empty beauty shots — nothing that doesn't earn its place in your cut. Tap a shot.

9

Two to stop them. Nine to own it.

The image stops them at two seconds. The story holds them through nine. Miss either and the audience is gone — that's the game on a vertical screen, and it's measurable.

00:02 STOP 00:09 QUESTION 00:20 TURN 00:27 REVEAL 00:30 AFTERIMAGE

Every frame earns its memory.

Sound enters before the edit.

Music, atmosphere and silence are developed as part of the direction — not added after the film is finished. A track by real artists, chosen while the concept is still forming, often pulling against the picture so the tension is what you feel.

The director

“Anyone can generate a strange image now. The work is knowing which strangeness earns its place — and having the taste to kill the rest.”

— Will Scardova, director

Generative imagery. Human direction, edit and finish.

Does it create contrast? Does the symbol mean something? Does anything change because of it?

The Guy With The Machine.

The argument above, put on film: one diner, July 1969, the morning after the Moon — and a director who makes the machine behave. The studio, directed the way your brand will be.

The Founding Thirty-Three.

The first thirty-three brands become founding partners — at the lowest rate these films will ever carry. Not a sale. Patrons entering an archive at the beginning.

Founding client Nº 04 / 33 · 30 commissions remain at the founding rate
Founding rate · available to our first 33 clients
Cinematic Ad — 30 seconds Regular price from $1,500Founding price $1,200
Brand Film — 60 seconds Regular price from $2,400Founding price $1,800

The founding rate holds through client Nº 33. After the thirty-three, the regular rates apply.

Why the founding rate exists: the first thirty-three films open the public Afterama archive — featured as portfolio work and case studies, with your brand on the reel. That visibility is part of the exchange, and you acknowledge it when you commission.

Every founding commission includes
  • One concept + visual thesis
  • Script & storyboard you approve first
  • Six directed shots
  • Edit · sound · grade · captions
  • Your real logo, composited exactly
  • Master + platform-ready 9:16 file
  • Commercial rights incl. paid ads
  • One revision round
  • Wrong shots redone at our cost
  • Delivered in six business days

Campaigns

More than one film under a single direction. Scope and rate are set per project — start with a brief.

Your logo composited from your real file in post — always exact, never AI-guessed. One round of revisions at the founding rate; two at the regular rate. A portfolio feature, a testimonial, and your logo on this page.

How the commission works

Five steps. One image people can't forget.

  1. 01
DirectionOne concept and a visual thesis — the wild idea, and the reason it means something for your brand.
  2. 02
ApprovalScript and storyboard locked before anything is generated. Nothing gets made until you approve the direction. This is where you steer it.
  3. 03
ProductionSix directed shots, generated and finished under a human art director — designed around what holds up on screen.
  4. 04
The cutEdit, sound, grade, captions. Your real logo composited in post, so it's always exactly your logo.
  5. 05
DeliveryYour master plus a platform-ready file — delivered within the agreed window after you approve the edit.
Before you commission — the honest answers
Will it actually look like my product and keep my logo?+

Your logo is real, not AI-guessed — we composite your actual file in the edit, so it's always exact. Where the product matters, we art-direct around your real shots. AI has limits; our job is to direct around them so what viewers see is genuinely you.

Do I own it? Can I run it as a paid ad?+

Yes. We assign you the rights to everything we deliver, and it's yours to use commercially, including as paid advertising. One honest note: the raw generated layer on its own isn't something anyone can copyright — but the finished, human-crafted film we hand you is, and it's yours.

What if a shot comes out wrong?+

That's a normal part of how this works, not a problem. If any shot doesn't meet the storyboard you approved, we re-generate or re-approach it at our cost — that's part of the fixed price, never an extra.

Do I have to disclose that it's AI?+

Often the platform adds an "AI info" label automatically. If you're running on Meta or TikTok, or to audiences in the EU, there may be a disclosure step — we'll tell you what applies and hand you compliant files. You control your own ad account, so the disclosure is yours to make; we make it simple.

What do I need to provide, and when does the clock start?+

Your logo (vector), any product shots, your brand colours and references. Your delivery window begins once we have everything and you've approved the storyboard — so the timeline is never waiting on a missing file.

Is this going to get me in legal trouble?+

We don't generate copyrighted characters, real people's likenesses, or knock-offs of other brands. Every film is built from your assets and original direction.
