Will Scardova.
“Anyone can generate a strange image now. The work is knowing which strangeness earns its place — and having the taste to kill the rest.”
A machine can generate. It can't decide.
Afterama is a boutique AI film studio: generative imagery under human direction, edit and finish. Every film is signed by one person, and every shot survives three questions before it stays in the cut:
- Does it create contrast?
- Does the symbol mean something?
- Does anything change because of it?
The method
Every film is cut on the 3·6·9 — three rules that stop the scroll, six directed shots that each move the story, and a nine-second hook that decides whether the audience stays. The full method is on the homepage, told the way it's practised.
The work
Two founding films are public: Vesuvius Gin and Fortex Moving — 9:16 vertical, created end-to-end with AI-native production and finished by hand.
